Commercial disputes can arise in all areas of business law. They may relate to the interpretation of a contract, or a claim for payment or damages. Disputes may also arise over who has the right to use a trade mark, or a better right to a particular piece of property.
It may be possible to resolve a commercial dispute by reaching a settlement with the other party. If this cannot be achieved, the dispute will be determined by a court of general jurisdiction, in the first instance a district court.
