Under both collective agreements and legislation, employers are required to negotiate with trade union organisations in certain situations, such as when a company is to be restructured or employees made redundant. It is of course important to be aware of when this obligation arises, and it may be advisable to seek the assistance of an experienced lawyer when entering into such negotiations.
