Administration of an estate (boutredning) occurs after someone has died. It involves making an inventory of the assets and liabilities of the deceased prior to the distribution of their estate, and ensuring that all the main beneficiaries of the estate are correctly informed and have the opportunity to express any views they may have on its administration. Inquiries are also made as to whether the deceased left a will. Our lawyers are regularly appointed as administrators by the district court in cases where this is requested by the main beneficiaries of an estate.
